By June 1, 2017, please propose a name of an IBHA member to run for one of the four open seats on the IBHA Board of Directors. The proposal may include a brief statement about the potential nominee. When a name is posted, 10% of the IBHA membership must reply to the proposal with their endorsement June 15 in order for that person to become a candidate. To endorse a person, once a name is posted, please "reply" to that name and record your own as an endorser.

The members of the IBHA Board of Directors hold staggered three year terms. Each year, a few seats become open. Since the IBHA was founded, there have been a number of Board members who have cycled off the Board, a number of new people who have joined it, and a number who have stayed on. In the interest of fostering both continuity, change, stability, and inclusivity, the IBHA selects Board candidates in two ways:

    (1) IBHA members identify names

    (2) and the existing Board proposes a list of names.

Between now and June 1, 2017, IBHA members may log on to the IBHA website at http://ibhanet.org/, click on “Forum,” “IBHA Discussions,” and “IBHA Board of Directors Nominations,” and post the names of any members they recommended for Board membership. Nominees who are endorsed by at least 10% of IBHA membership before June 15, 2017 will become candidates. By June 15, the IBHA Board will have discussed and decided on its list of candidates.

As a result of this process, the candidates for the IBHA Board of Directors for four seats will be on the ballot for the elections that will take place from July 15 to August 15, 2017. The new Board members' terms will run from August 15, 2017 through the beginning of the board meeting in 2020.  The new board members will be announced in August.
